Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame – Brett Favre Interactive

The Green Bay Packers are one of the most beloved professional football teams in America. For their newly reopened Hall of Fame, they wanted a ‘digital update’ that would tell the story of the Packers in a new and exciting way.

I was brought on to program three of the permanent interactive displays. One of these was the Brett Favre interactive, which showcases the life and career of one of Pro Football’s most successful quarterbacks.

The interactive consists of two large touch screens placed in portrait mode one atop the other, reaching a height of nearly ten feet. Users can scroll vertically through a series of video highlights and choose which to view. The unique aspect ratio of the piece means that users can watch videos of their choice, while bystanders waiting to for their turn can watch the same videos on the upper screen.

The piece was essentially a media controller, running vides as prompted by the touch screen interactions. It was programmed in TouchDesigner with Python scripting.

Brett Favre himself was able to view the piece as part of his induction into the Hall of Fame. The interactive is showcased at 1:46 in the attached video.
